Sklavenitis is a major supermarket chain in Greece and was founded by Sklavenitis brothers in the early 1950s.
The first supermarket was opened in 1969 in the Peristeri suburb of Athens.
In terms of total market share is the third biggest retail group in Greece, with around 158 stores, mainly concentrated in the greater Athens area, maintaining a high level service and affordable prices.
Recently, the company expanded in several cities in Greece, by purchasing stocks of a local supermarket chain in Crete, as well as acquiring the total stocks of a wholesale chain in northern Greece.
